London Office Management

Gary Brown BA (Hons) MIFA
Managing Director
Telephone: 0207 732 3925

Gary Brown is the Managing Director of Pre-Construct Archaeology which he founded in September 1993. Gary is a career archaeologist having participated on excavations since his school days. He completed a degree in Ancient History and Archaeology at Manchester University which helped to nurture his interest in Roman archaeology. Unlike his early years, post-graduation Gary has been relatively settled. He spent 2.5 years as a Field Officer in Lincolnshire before moving to London in 1985 where he spent most of his time digging, or writing about digging, in the City of London. He has become more varied in his archaeological interests latterly and is equally at home being involved with prehistoric to post-medieval sites as he is with Roman. As well as being a member of the usual archaeological societies he is a Committee Member of the Standing Conference of Archaeological Unit Managers (SCAUM) and the Standing Conference of London Archaeology (SCOLA). Gary is, for his sins, a follower of Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester Tigers RFC.
