Peter Moore has been in archaeology for 25 years, of which the last
15 have been based in London and SE England. He spent 5 years as a project
manager in Newham Museum Service, where he was responsible for advising
the London Borough of Waltham Forest and for undertaking, the now published,
major archaeological investigations at English Heritage's Tilbury Fort.
He then joined PCA as a project manager in 1996 and runs a wide variety
of projects from negotiation through fieldwork to publication, across
Southern England, Wales and currently Northern Ireland. His projects at
PCA have included some of the most interesting and complex projects of
recent years, including the Seaboard Depot Mesolithic site in Guildford,
the Shadwell Roman bath complex in Tower Hamlets, Southwark Cathedral's
Millennium Project, and, as co-director, the Roman temple complex at Tabard
Square in Southwark. He has a degree in archaeology from Queens University
Belfast and has excavated widely across Europe and the Middle East, most
recently in the Persian Gulf, Turkey and Cyprus.
