Gary Brown is the Managing Director of PCA, having founded the company in 1993 after many years’ experience as an archaeologist in the City of London. He now oversees the effective running of the company and its three offices, as well as being actively involved in project work and undertaking numerous commitments for publications in academic and popular archaeological press.
His key specialisms are the management of the company; procurement, design and implementation of archaeological and built heritage projects; client liaison and execution of fieldwork projects. Recent projects that Gary has managed include the London 2012 regeneration, for which over 100 evaluation trenches and 8 excavations were made, the 1.2 hectare excavation of Roman to post medieval remains at Tabard Square in Southwark and the 3-phase excavation of Moor House in the City of London. Gary additionally represents PCA on the committee of several archaeology-related interest groups including the Federation of Archaeological Managers and Employers and CBA London.
