Accessability

Our website has been built to be accessable to everyone. We have incorporated the following features to help you read our pages.

Use of Colours

Where text is displayed we use strongly contrasting colours. Black text on white backgrounds on main text areas, and black text on grey backgrounds for menus and sub menus. Links retain the standard blue text in bold and underlined.

Selecting Larger Text

The text for all pages can be enlarged two sizes. The default is set to medium sized text.
To change the text size: Go to "View" on your browsers menu bar and point to "text size". change the text to either "larger" or "largest".

Use of "ALT TAGS"

All our Images use "ALT Tags" were neccessary. If a picture does not show you will see the ALT TAG behind it. This is a description of the image. Also if you hover your mouse over the image the description will roll down. This is a feauture useful for screen readers.

Use of HTML and CSS

Our website is written in HTML and CSS and is screen reader friendly.

Use of Access Keys

All our pages incorporate "Access Keys" to ease navigation. Access keys are keyboard shortcuts which can be used to send you to all the major areas of our website. Access Keys are activated by pressing and holding ALT and tapping the appropriate linking number or key.

Site Navigation

Site navigation has been designed to be visually easy to use, however if you have trouble, our navigation elements are explained here.

I.T. Tested logo

Note: This site is best viewed at 800x600 or above

Home Page
You can go back to the Home Page at anytime by clicking on the Home link at the top of the title bar or by clicking on the PCA logo. The navigation has been designed, so that this is not necessary, but the option is there for you.

Navigational Aids
To help you navigate our website you can use our Sitemap if you don't want to search through all the sections. We also have a useful Search Facility, where you can perform advanced searches to find what you are looking for.

Page Structure
All the main sections (E.g. About, Contact, Services etc.) are available as word links on every page. When you enter a section it is highlighted to show that you have entered it. You will also have a graphic image enhancing the section, however if you have difficulty viewing the images, then the word links are there to fall back on. Each section has its own defining image at the end (Right side) of the titlebar, if you are unable to see it, don't worry as they are only abstract images and are not detrimental to the navigation.
In some sections a menu will appear. Main menu's appear on the left (Grey) column, whereas Sub-menu's appear on the right column. When you click on a section within a menu its heading will change to bold black. This is to indicate which menu selection you have taken. Thus when you select a sub-menu heading, it too will turn bold black. The main menu's selection will remain bold black to indicate the main section you are in. Confused? Browse through Departments for an example.

Pages with sub-sections can only be accessed from their own Sections. However you can easily access the main section page or any of the main pages.

On some pages like the Site Summaries you may need to use the "Back" link provided, or your browser's "Back Button" to view the previous page.

Use of Images
Some pages contain photographic or CAD images. If you see your curser change to a little hand (Or change to the theme you have set), then that image can be enlarged. Very large images are indicated in brackets by its size, e.g. (1.1mb). Click to enlarge on those images. To go back the page you were looking at you will need to use your browsers' "Back Button".
