The work consisted of the excavation of a deep foundation trench (Area A), an associated compound (Area B), and an access road (Area C). Areas A and B were devoid of any archaeological features. Area C contained two sub-round post holes from a fence line of modern date.
Natural boulder clay was observed along the length of the excavation. This deposit comprised a compact mid orange brown silty clay, with frequent fine and medium sub-angular and sub-rounded stone and gravel fragments.
