Natural was observed between 61.46m OD and 61.56m OD.
Cutting the sandy gravel natural (61.56m OD) were two linear features running roughly parallel in an NW-SE alignment. These were filled with sandy silt containing a small quantity of burnt flint. In the same trench a pit containing a quantity of burnt flint and a single, abraded fragment of 17th century pottery was recorded and may have been dug for gravel extraction. Three N-S linear features to the E of the trench contained charcoal flecks, burnt flint and a single fragment of abraded medieval pottery. One feature also yielded three sherds of Late Iron Age pottery suggesting Prehistoric activity occurred in the vicinity of the site. Despite the paucity of later finds from the fills the size and nature of the fills are indicative of Post-Medieval horticultural or bedding trenches which are commonly found in the area.
