Oliver Close Estate, Phase IV
TQ 3768 8658; (David Divers); evaluation; 16-23 January 2001; Waltham Forest Housing Action Trust; OVC01
Several cut features were excavated, small pits and postholes, which probably represented an extension of the Bronze Age activity recorded in earlier excavations at Oliver Close Estate to the south of these recent excavations. A sherd of possible Roman pottery was retrieved from near the top of one of the cuts. Overlaying these layers was a layer of plough soil, probably reworked from natural deposits.
