Three trenches were excavated at the site.
Natural brickearth and gravel was recorded between 148.37m OD and 148.22m OD. Cut into these layers was a probable tree throw. Sealing this was an interface layer between the natural and sub-soil, the subsoil having been removed and re-deposited during the 18th /early 19th century landscaping. This was overlain by a deposit associated with this landscaping or its subsequent levelling to create the current lawn associated with the c.1920 house.
