Land to the Rear of Avelon Road, Rainham

Natural sand and gravel was recorded at the site.

The watching brief consisted of examination of the trenches dug for the strip footings of four houses. These were c. 1m deep and c. 0.40m wide. Across the site the upper 0.30m - 0.40m was made or disturbed ground, containing modern objects. Below this was natural.
