The evaluation consisted of two auger holes inserted to establish whether the natural sand on the site had been removed by quarrying. Natural sand and gravel were recorded at 2.43m OD directly below a layer of subsoil sealed by made ground, which in turn was overlain by topsoil. No archaeological deposits or features were encountered.
