Five trenches were excavated within the former garden of this property exposing a
natural sequence of clay under sand and gravel although garden terracing had removed much
of this sequence, particularly to the west of site. A small linear feature was tentatively
linked to a Prehistoric gully excavated during an archaeological evaluation of the adjacent
property (No. 54 Wimbledon Parkside). Only modern features associated with the gardens'
landscaping and drainage were revealed elsewhere but the terracing would have removed all
but deep intrusive archaeological features on the site.
