Natural sand sloped down from 12.64m OD to the south to 11.88m OD to the north. The natural sand was overlain by a reworked brickearth deposit which contained Prehistoric flint tools, a middle Saxon loom weight fragment and a silver coin dated to c. 1399-1470.Two post-Medieval post holes (c.1580-1900) were cut into the reworked brickearth and sealed by a post-Medieval sub-soil. The post-Medieval subsoil was itself sealed by a layer of modern topsoil. No archaeological features earlier than the post-Medieval period were recorded, the land probably having been in agricultural use during the Medieval and post-Medieval periods.
