Excavations at Grindall Field in Wickham are uncovering the remains of a major Roman road, alongside evidence of industrial activity, possible workshops, pits, ditches and other features.

We’re inviting people to come and see the archaeology for themselves at our Archaeology Open Day on Saturday 19 September.

The PCA team will be on site throughout the day, with guided tours of the excavation, Roman artefacts recovered from the dig to see, and plenty of opportunity to chat to the archaeologists working on the project.
