Environmental Services

PCA’s highly-skilled, diverse team of environmental and geoarchaeological specialists undertake analysis of samples and provide a full range of environmental services, from advice and assessment through to publication.  

Tegan Abel An environmental archaeologist with a particular interest in plant macros.

Barry Bishop Widely respected prehistorian specialising in lithic technology and quaternary geoarchaeology.

Lynden Cooper Lithic specialist, experienced in later prehistoric archaeology, lithic analysis, alluvial geoarchaeology and urban archaeology.

Duncan Field A geoarchaeologist/environmental archaeologist whose work often focuses on the Pleistocene terraces of the Thames (as well as it’s Holocene tributaries). Duncan manages the environmental processing facilities in London, as well as providing environmental expertise at all stages of project design and fieldwork. A qualified chainsaw operative, he is able to undertake dendrochronology sampling on site.

Bronagh Rae-Quinn An archaeobotanist who particularly enjoys learning about past diet and land-use through the presence of archaeobotanical remains.
